Barcarollescreened at Nuns Island Studio Galway, 14th & 15th November
www.sarahkipp.comSarah Kipp (New York) is a painter and performance artist dealing with autobiographical elements of the physical and mental self. She grew up in a small valley in central Pennsylvania, and has resided in Queens, NY since 2002, where she works from her studio at home.
Barcarolle (2006) brings one of Sarah's paintings to life, through projection and song. The visual layering presented in this piece creates a multitude of characters. There is the artist; her physical self the two painted children, and finally there are the creatures that emerge when self and the painting become one.
