FOREST CONTACT 2005 screened at Nuns Island Studios Galway, 21st - 23rd November Duration 3min 20sec Funded by Office for Contemporary Art Norway
Nedregard undertook the first part of her studies in her native Norway, moving to Scotland to do the Masters of Fine Arts course at Glasgow School of Art, where she graduated in 2005. She is now based between Norway and Scotland, currently undertaking an artist in residency at Stills Gallery in Edinburgh. She works freelance as a performance art teacher besides participating in shows, screenings and festivals internationally.
Filmed in a Norwegian forest, Forest Contact describes a physical meeting between body and space, internal and exterior landscapes. Nature comes alive with equal presence as its human counterpart. Led in by brief suggestions of narrative, the viewer is taken on a dreamlike journey of inexplicable, psychologically charged movements and images, underlined by Harold Nonos enticing soundtrack.
